Enjoy the 2024 Syezd in comfort and style. Organised to be far away from the noisy city, here you can come back to what is important in our lives.

This year, the Syezd’s main focus is to realign our lives back to the never changing way of life of Orthodoxy. By going back to our roots in Orthodoxy as well as our roots as Russian Orthodox, we remember why our ancestors fought hard to maintain and save the Russian Orthodox faith and traditions in Australia. By going back to the beginning of Orthodoxy, we remember the symbolism of what we do as Orthodox Christians and why we do it. Things that we take for granted and not understand the meaning behind them.

The history of our Russian background and traditions, and how interconnected it is with the Orthodox faith and traditions. We explore and teach how Orthodox has prevailed in Russian and throughout the world.

The 2024 Syezd committee have decided to do things a little different for this years Syezd. With having only 1 lecture a day, they will be implementing an elective workshop programme covering the two aspects of the Syezd; Going Back to Our Roots – Orthodoxy and Cultural.

Each participant will be asked to choose one elective stream from the “Orthodox” side and one from the “Cultural” side. They will go through intense workshops in accordance to those catagories.

For example, Ivan Smith has registered for Syezd and chose the Choir elective and Art elective. Ivan will then attend the workshops associated with those elective streams.

So these workshops will be run at the same time as others, so pick carefully which workshop stream best suits you!
