Evgeni Nikitin will be giving a talk and presentation about the life of the great Russian marine painter Ivan Aivazovsky. 1817-1900.
Ivan Aivazovsky, born in a poor Arminian family in Feodosia Crimea, studied in St. Petersburg and Europe, He became highly acclaimed in Russia and abroad. Then returned to Feodosia despite emperor’s request to stay in St. Petersburg, he became the most influential person in Crimea and died a highly decorated Navy Admiral.
Evgeni Nikitin finished School of Art’s in Moscow in 1980, and has been working as a jeweller since, he is an expert on Russian Art and painters of the 1800s.
